Preggo Life: My 16-hour flight experience from MEL to YVR (Week 16)

As someone who flies a lot, I love plane rides and I can clunk out wherever I go.

However, because I’m pregnant, I no longer have the luxury to sleep for long periods while sitting still on the plane.

I decided to document my journey on my long arse plane ride so if you were wondering what I ended up doing, feel free to read below!

Overall, it was the most boring and longest plane ride I have ever experienced and I am probably going to try to find shorter plane rides to travel from Australia to Canada (especially since we will be traveling with a tiny gremlin in the future!).

My 16 hour flight experience

11:10pm - Boarded the flight

11:30pm - 12am - Delays - didn’t leave yet 😴

12:30am - Got a drink

1:30am - Was served dinner - picked the plant based pasta with red sauce and mushrooms - the pasta was not fully cooked, was quite al dente…

Also got a small brioche bun (was good!) and a small brownie (yum).

Had apple juice as my drink.

Slam’s beef dish was better and yummier - had a bite of his. Slam got a small bottle of wine.

2am to 4am - Watched the Boston marathon movie where Jake Gyllenhaal lost both of his legs - made me cry.

4:30am - 6:30am - Slept a bit, seats were pretty comfy. Slam sat a seat away from me (there was an empty seat beside me).

6:30am - Went to go pee/poo and did some exercises - walked up and down the aisle.

Took off shoes for most of the flight cause it was comfier that way.

Looked at the time - 6 hrs of flying done, 8 more hrs to go!

That means the flight would be 14 hrs and not 16 hours? I’m so confused lol

It says it’s 6:36am on my phone atm which is PST

I’ll check the map later!!! Ohh I think there’s more hours cause we were delayed.

8:30am - Slept til now and woke up to use the loo

Was able to poo a bit - slow digestive system

Noticed Slam was awake so bothered him beside his seat.

Walked around - up and down the aisles.

Stretched my arms and did more high knees.

Stretched my neck and head.

No idea how much we flew so far - think it’s almost 9 hours of flying now.

There’s no flight information or path on this flight (not accessible to passengers).

The staff members look like they are prepping for a meal or snack - everyone is moving around.

8:30am - 9:30am - Watched Abbott Elementary and was about to fall asleep.

Slam woke me up to eat a snack.

9:45am - Ate a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich - yum!!!

10am - Watched more Abbott Elementary then fell asleep.

11:30am - Woke up and went to the bathroom to pee and stretched my legs - more high knees and ankle circles.

12pm - I think there’s 4 more hours to this flight??? C’mon!!

12:25pm - Qantas staff gave us a soy crisp snack - like those Japanese crisps (yum!).

Another 4 or 5 more hours to goooooo!

2pm - Ate hot brekkie

2:30pm - Watched an episode of Catfish and will continue to watch more.

[Not sure what time I landed] - Landeddddd in LAX, hooray!!
